-The American Podiatric Medical Association
Be screened for foot problems that can lead to severe complications --even amputations. And if there are problems, find out what steps you should take to prevent serious complications.
LEAP Alliance members are podiatrists and other health professionals, healthcare facilities, diabetes-related companies, civic groups, and diabetes support organizations --all cooperating to help prevent diabetic foot complications and amputations.
(Screenings do not provide a specific diagnosis or course of treatment. Persons who have foot problems that need medical care are advised to see their personal podiatrist or other health professional.)

An estimated 117,000 adults in Nevada have been diagnosed with diabetes.
Up to 80% of foot and leg amputations in diabetics can be prevented with a simple foot examination every year.
The LEAP Alliance Partners with Nevada Lions Clubs to Provide the Lions Hunt for Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN) Free Foot Screening Program.
Foot screenings are brief foot exams for adult persons with Type 2 Diabetes to identify circulatory problems, diabetic neuropathy, and other conditions that can lead to severe lower extremity complications and amputations.
